I DARE YOU™ to Live The Life of Your Dreams!
August 30, 2009
Excerpts from The 7 Principles of Success Daring Women Guidebook!
Change is Inevitable, but Growth and Progress Are Optional!
“You do not get to choose how you are going to die or when. You can only decide how you are going to live. NOW ” Joan Baez, American Folksinger
Sanaya Roman, a writer, once wrote: “What you love is a sign from your higher self of what you are to do.”
What do you love? Who would you love to become? Can you readily come up with a crisp answer or are you like many women who have been ignoring their needs, their dream for so long… you cannot even remember what they once were? You may feel that you have lost your ability to dream… let alone having the courage to discover and live your passion.
Doing our own thing is risky. We don’t want to risk failure - or worse, look silly. But, look around. The happiest people are those living their passion despite difficulties or fears. What kind of barrier or excuses do you use to keep yourself from the life you really want to live? From what fears are you trying to save yourself?
So many people have worked hard to make their dreams come true. They may have had to do a drastic thing like sell their house so they could travel the world. Some may have had to cut some of their spending drastically in order to quit their hated job and start their own business.
Passion is the energy, the enthusiasm,
the juice behind any dream.
Imagine living the life you have always dreamed about - the career, the relationships, writing the book you have been putting off or adding fun and excitement back into your life.
Remember we do not get what we want in life, we get what we are. In order to get what we want in life, we must first become that person that would have it - our thoughts, feelings and actions have to be in alignment with the good that we desire.
So let me ask you: Have you had a dream you’ve never acted on, an unfinished project, a business plan that lies dormant in a drawer somewhere, an idea you have been mulling over in your head? When are you planning on acting on it? NOW is the only right answer.
Dare to give yourself permission to live the life you have only been dreaming of up to now. Don’t allow past mistakes to shape your destiny or your fears to hold you back. Your time is now! Seize the moment!

Twitter Goes Mainstream

Corporate America Finding Tweet Smell of Success on Twitter
“Excerpts from an article in Investor’s Business Daily”
Many companies are starting to realize that using Twitter gives them an easy access to key audience.
Corporate America is all a-twitter. From agriculture giant MONSANTO to STARBUCKS, outfits of all stripes have added Twitter to their mix of communication tools.
According to Forrester Research, marketers are looking for free ways to reach influential audiences, especially in a bad economy.
Here is an unbelievable statistic - the number of U.S unique visitors to Twitter.com jumped to 20.1 million in June from 9.3 million just three months earlier (according to Andrew Lipsman, an analyst at market tracker comScore).
Companies use Twitter for everything from product testing to customer service to offering spot deals.
Go Starbucks - is an active tweeter. In less than a year, it’s build up to more than 273,000 followers, and adds 1,000 to 2,000 per day.
Cable Leader COMCAST uses Twitter for customer services and to get customer feedback on products and issues. The company makes contact with an average of 250 customers a day on Twitter.
MONSANTO uses Twitter for corporate communications. It has nearly 2,100 followers, including journalists and people just interested in agriculture.
Part of their Twitter Strategy is to drive people to their web site and to specific content they want their audience to see.
WAL-MART uses Twitter to let customers keep up with deals.
Examples of Tweets:
STARBUCKS - If you like the Soy Chai, you should try an Earl Gray Tea Latte
SAMCLUBDEALS - Preorder Madden NFL 10 & receive a $5 gift card when the item ships
WALMART SPECIALS - Walmart.com Hot Deals: “iPod Touch (2nd Gen), 16GB”
MONSANTOCO - Just finished with a meeting about Farm Progress … LOTS of cool stuff planned, stay tuned.
Twitter is gaining huge momentum. Just in the past three or four months, use of Twitter for marketing has boomed exponentially. No wonder, it’s a easy and FREE way for companies to connect with their customers.
So let’s keep on Twitting.

What question do you have for Richard Branson?
August 19, 2009
Dear Fellow Daring Women (Men) and Friends,
If you had the chance to ask Richard Branson a question, what would it be?
After all, Richard is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the history of the world, with over 300 companies and 50,000 employees.
His knowledge and insight is sought-after, and accessing this kind of genius just doesn’thappen very often.
What would be the one big question YOU would ask him?
I’m writing you today because I may be able to give you the chance to do exactly this!
My friends Alex Mandossian and Greg Habstritt are hosting a series of incredible tele-training calls, where they’re going to feature interviews from some of the top minds in the world ..including Richard Branson, Dr. Stephen Covey, and 10 other amazing experts.
The calls start on Wednesday, and will happen every week with different interviews, and you’ll be able to access ALL of them at no cost!
In addition, during this series, you’ll have the chance to submit a question for Richard Branson (and the other speakers).
At a live event that’s happening later this year, Greg will choose some of the questions submitted and ask them LIVE.
Maybe your question is for Dr. Stephen Covey, or maybe it’s for Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos.com that just sold to Amazon for over $900 millions.
Perhaps you want to ask a question of Bill Phillips, one of the world’s greatest authorities on health and wellness, author of “Body-for-LIFE”.
Maybe it would be a question for Marci Shimoff (”Happy For No Reason”), or Janet Attwood “The Passion Test”).
Or maybe you have a question for ALL of them!
If you think you’ve got a GREAT question to ask Richard, or any one of the experts being interviewed, you need to go here and get registered: http://budurl.com/wp26
You’ll then learn how you can submit your question to be considered!
This unique training series will not be repeated, and there are thousands already registered to participate.
So take a moment now and get the details by going to this link before it’s too late: http://budurl.com/wp26
Daringly Yours,
Francine

I DARE YOU: Dare to set a NEW goal today.
August 18, 2009
Hello Daring Women! Here’s your task for today and the rest of this week.
Sometimes we become so myopic in our goals and hard work that it’s easy to forget how FLUID life really is. As we stand, focused on the brass ring that we THINK we want, life and circumstance can shift under our very feet. Today set aside an hour or two and do the best you can to come up with a NEW goal. One you haven’t ever thought of before.
If you could experience any one new thing or learn one new skill, what might that be? Why not Dare to choose a short-term goal, that you can begin to work toward and achieve in a few weeks, and also a long-term goal, that you will need a step-by-step plan to move toward over a period of months or years. Goals can be an AMAZING GPS system that keeps us focused and productive, but they can also be a WEIGHT around us if we aren’t careful to constantly re-evaluate. Dare to ALWAYS stop and ask if your goals still match your Daring Dreams.
Remember, The Daring Community of Women is HERE to help you. We are here to support one another with our expertise and our passion and our inspiration. You are magnificent and your BEST Dares are definitely still ahead of you.
Yours truly, Francine Allaire, Founder of The Daring Woman
PS: If you are ready to truly DARE yourself, why not join our official Daring Women’s Community (for $57 a YEAR — I know, it’s crazy, but I want you all to have access to the resources we offer).
Testosterone-Free Selling - Why Women Make the Best “Salesmen”!
August 10, 2009
I want to share with you a post that I hope you’ll enjoy. Having been in sales and marketing for 20 years, I’ve always been fascinated by how good women are at the art of selling (because good selling is truly replacing the word selling by the word helping - and women are phenomenal at helping people). But, by the same token, I am often painfully reminded of the fact that so many women are uncomfortable promoting themselves without feeling like they are selling their soul. Don’t let it be you! You have something to offer that the world needs. Go out there and promote it daringly, proudly and boldly.
Testosterone-Free Selling - Why Women Make the Best “Salesmen”!
They say, “if you build it, they will come.”
Raise your hand if you once thought that opening the doors, offering a new service or announcing a free teleseminar would bring you new customers. Yeah, we all do.
Whether you know it or not, you’re selling something. Fundamentally, you’re selling yourself. By and large, people like people. People want to have a relationship with someone they like, respect and trust. It’s as much about a good laugh as a good deal.
Behind every successful business, project, venture and dream is a dynamic, passionate captain steering the ship. You can assert yourself and your business testosterone-free. Build relationships as you boost your business. Sell yourself and soar!
This does not mean every word should be “I” or “me.” You are a piece in the puzzle your customer needs to solve. Cast yourself as the solution to their puzzle.
Women are nurturers and helpers. The key to great and confident selling is helping. Accentuate your naturally helpful side and create a win-win.
Women can often make referrals and they enjoy sharing their contacts. Establish yourself as a trusted advisor. Become a “doctor of selling.” Diagnose before you prescribe and, if you do not have the prescription and you know someone who could deliver the solution, then act as a referral source. The client is most likely to come back to you every time he or she has a problem and you will get the first right of refusal.
Women understand that negotiation is not a contest or a wrestling match. It is a communication between two parties to bring out a mutually acceptable result.
Women know how to dress the part. When selling, follow the rule of the three Cs: dress for comfort, compatibility and confidence.
Women are most likely to choose a business, product or service that aligns with their personality, lifestyle and values. We seldom do something for the sake of money alone.
We have what it takes simply by virtue of our gender. Our strengths, nurturing style, passion and intuition, once discounted in the business world, have now taken hold. We need to use these very special attributes as a means to ignite our self-confidence and enthusiasm and let it shine through.
And remember, you miss 100 percent of the sales you do not ask for!
Have a DARING Selling Day!
